Secrets to Safe & Affordable Lasik Surgery
- Internal Examination. A thorough evaluation of the retina, blood vessels, optic disc, macula, vitreous, lens and all internal structures of the eye is mandatory.
- Refraction. We determine your true spectacle prescription both subjectively and objectively. Performed with improved technology original developed by NASA, your vision will also be analyzed independently of your eye chart responses.
- Anterior Segment Evaluation. A microscopic examination of your lids, lashes, cornea, conjunctive sclera, anterior chamber, etc.
- Schirmer Test. Your tears are evaluated to determine if the eye is adequately hydrated.
- Pachymetry. Corneal thickness studies. Your cornea will be measured to within one micron, or .00003 inches. Your cornea must be thick enough to safely have the procedure performed.
- Corneal Topography. A computer generated topographical map of the front surface of your eye is examined, where the “hills and valleys” of your cornea are scrutinized for the most subtle irregularities.
- Your Eye and General Health History. This must be reviewed, as certain conditions of the eye (such as Keratoconus) do not allow for LASIK. Health problems, such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, also don’t allow for LASIK.
You will be examined one day, one week, one month, three months, AND yearly after the procedure. Every step of the way is carefully monitored and analyzed. The doctors and staff here are ready to answer any questions FOREVER. We have provided this same continuous care for our patients since 1966.
